In this episode, I’m sharing the VS Factory’s Cement Grey Rubber Daytona, official model: Rolex Cosmograph Daytona M116519LN-0027. This watch is equipped with the Dandong 4130 movement, and VS Factory will also release the authentic new model 126519 Grey Rubber Daytona in the future. Today, let's take a look at the details and craftsmanship of the 4130 version of the VS Factory Grey Rubber Daytona. The price is very reasonable, just over 3K, which is equivalent to the prices from around 6 years ago during the N Factory era.
Aside from VS Factory, C Factory also produces a great version of the Grey Rubber Daytona, but their price is significantly higher. Currently, the older version from C Factory still costs around 4K+, which is several hundred more than the VS version. This price has already been reduced, and before the price drop, it was nearly 5K. One can imagine how much C Factory has profited in recent years. The price from VS Factory feels almost like a strategic move to create a strong impression, reminiscent of a "ruler controlling the ministers," and bringing the price back to where it was 6 years ago. I must give a big thumbs up to VS for this.
As for the craftsmanship, honestly, the level of workmanship these days is quite similar across factories, and it’s hard to point out any clear shortcomings. This includes the bezel, which is made with the same Dandong 4130 movement. The color of the dial is quite accurate, including the sunburst pattern and the three small subdials with their CD (circular graining) texture. The central sunburst pattern and the markers are all correct. The hour markers, luminous material, and the central axis are also all well done.
Looking at the side, the pushers are made to match the original, with a large center pusher and two smaller ones on either side, all featuring three small dots, just like the original.
The case is made of 904L stainless steel, while the original model uses 18K white gold, so there’s a slight difference in weight. However, the overall case shape is very accurate, with a bright polished finish. Time adjustment is done correctly with the first crown position, and the movement works perfectly, with the top-tier Dandong 4130 movement. For the chronograph function, when you pull the crown out, pressing the button starts the large second hand. After one full rotation, the small subdial at 3 o'clock moves one tick, confirming that one minute has passed. After two full rotations, the chronograph hour hand also moves one tick. If you don’t need the chronograph, you can simply turn it off by first pressing the pause button and then resetting with the second button.
The strap is a rubber strap with an inner steel plate, very similar to C Factory’s version. The buckle is also quite well-made, with polished bevels, though slightly less refined compared to C Factory’s, but the difference is almost imperceptible unless compared side-by-side. The buckle also features the 7CD code, the precious metal AU750, and the dog head logo, all clearly visible. The engraving on the back of the case is also deep and well-defined.
